Jerry was born in Cuba in 1968 and moved to Spain in 1973. After one year, they moved to the United States and settled in Southern California. After high school Jerry joined the Army and served in Fort Lewis Washington in an infantry unit as a scout. After his time in the army he went into the National Guard while attending California State University, Fullerton. He received a commission in the guard as a lieutenant.
Jerry met my wife, Patti, in college where they dated for a whole six weeks before getting engaged. After college, Patti went into teaching and Jerry joined the Long Beach Police Department. He was a police officer for twelve years before retiring due to a back injury in 2005.
Jerry and Patti have two boys, Zack and Matt. Shortly after retirement the family packed up, moved to Minnesota and joined Five Oaks Church. Since moving to Minnesota Patti has been very active in the Children's Ministry and Jerry has been on three mission trips: two to Fedja, Haiti and one to Camp De Cimes, France.
Jerry recently earned his license as a commercial pilot and hopes to someday tie his flying into mission work.
